Castle Downs Park Pavilion

This pavilion for Castle Downs Park is conceived as a landmark building – an object in a field that serves the park’s users and provides the space with a strong identity. It presents a series of basic functional spaces while simultaneously creating offerings of various programmatic possibilities. The structure is designed as a massive concrete container wrapped in a thin skin of perforated steel sheeting. During the daytime the building provides opportunities for panoramic viewing, while at night it acts as a park lantern and offers opportunities for cinematic projection.
