In-camera

In-camera is an ephemeral structure that engages the city in unexpected ways.  Passage Studio designed this experimental cinema to be able to move from location to location around the city, situating itself in various urban conditions, and inspiring new ways to think about the medium of film. Housed within the structure is a 16mm film projector which utilizes a mirror to bounce the projected image onto a translucent acrylic wall.  The steel structure is clad in CNC machined panels with a tactile pattern based on the aspect ratio of 16mm film.  One can enter the end of the cinema and touch the projected image in an abstracted proximity of colour and light.   The project was exhibited at the Toronto International Film Festival, 8-11 Gallery, and Artscape Youngplace.
