Building on the existing footprint of an old dilapidated house and shed, new life emerges on this quaint street in the form of the Skinny House and its backyard Guest House. This cleverly compact house opens onto a magical private garden space sheltered by the Guest House, a wall of bamboo and the shade of a lone tree. A long wall of millwork stretches down the length of Skinny House, providing opportunities for storage, sitting, dining, and housing logs under a woodstove. An open living space with 10’ ceilings and expansive windows makes Skinny House feel vast despite its minimal footprint.
